Share Your Waste Story: Help Us Build Smarter, Cleaner Communities in Nepal

Green Smith Nepal invites you to share your personal experience with waste management. Your story can help shape sustainable policies and community-driven solutions across Nepal.

Why Your Waste Story Matters

In Nepal, waste is more than just a public nuisance—it’s a reflection of our habits, infrastructure, and priorities. From overflowing bins in urban centers to informal recycling in rural wards, every community faces unique challenges. But behind every challenge is a story—and behind every story is a solution waiting to be heard.

At Green Smith Nepal, we believe that real change begins with real voices. That’s why we’ve launched the Waste Story Submission Campaign, a nationwide initiative to collect personal experiences with waste management. Whether you’re a household generator, informal recycler, entrepreneur, or municipal staff member—your story matters.

Why This Matters for Nepal

Nepal generates over 1,000 metric tons of solid waste daily, with Kathmandu Valley alone contributing a significant portion. Yet, most of this waste is poorly segregated, informally processed, or dumped in unmanaged landfills. The consequences are severe:

  • Air and water pollution
  • Public health risks
  • Loss of recyclable materials
  • Social stigma around waste work

By collecting stories from the ground, we aim to:

  • Understand behavioral patterns
  • Identify gaps in infrastructure
  • Promote inclusive waste policies
  • Empower communities with data and dialogue

How Your Story Will Be Used

With your permission, your story may be:

  • Featured in our blog or podcast
  • Used in advocacy campaigns
  • Shared with policymakers and researchers
  • Included in educational materials

You can choose to remain anonymous or have your name credited. We respect your privacy and will never share personal contact details without consent.
